Grails and AngularJS, bridging the gap

When 2015-02-10 | 11:30:00
Event Title Grails and AngularJS, bridging the gap
Presenter Jackie
Where OCLC's Kilgour building auditorium
Event description:

I will be presenting on my personal experience integrating existing Grails applications with AngularJS. Most Grails developers rely on GSPs to display structured data, however, this can be cumbersome. With the introduction of AngularJS, a powerful client MVC platform, the client’s browser can help provide a dynamic and light UI experience. We will explore how Angular directives, controllers and services can integrate with Grails controllers, web sockets and more. We will ensure functionality and code quality throughout the stack using Jasmine, Spock and CucumberJs tests.

Jackie started off his career as a .NET consultant working with IBM document management products. Next he moved on to Java where he was lucky enough to work for a variety of companies on projects including Security, Business Orchestration, eCommerce, and Hardware integration. Recently, More recently, Mr. Gleason has been working with technologies such as Grails, Spring, and Angular to create dynamic single page applications. In his free time he enjoys pool, Civilization 5, hacking around on Arduinos and Volunteering for ComFest in Columbus.
